Sensual Yoga Flow

DESCRIPTION

Revive your sensuality through the practice of yoga. Sensual Yoga Flow is an all-levels yoga class designed to empower you to intimately connect with your body, mind, and spirit.

Sequenced to a sultry and seductive playlist, this unique class combines gentle vinyasa yoga, a long, sweet savasana, and a healthy dose of sensual empowerment.

Sex and sensuality can be challenging, or even triggering, topics. This class is inclusive, non-judgmental, and seeks to dispel societal myths around the body, pleasure, and connection.

Each class is themed to focus on one aspect of sensuality. Examples of themes include: valuing authenticity over performance, embracing a changing body, or tuning into desire. Prepare to have a lot of fun, dig a little deeper, and build radiance in your sensual self!

LEVEL

All levels, but previous yoga or exercising habits preferred. There will be poses and sequences to invite heat and movement, and poses and sequences to invite mindfulness, sensuality, and slowing down.

FAQ: Why Sensuality & Yoga?

This class is meant to recognize, acknowledge, and observe the sensual part of the self without judgement. Learning to let go of shame ON the mat will help you let go of shame OFF the mat.

In addition to the mind, body, and spirit is our sensual self. However, so many adults numb, reject, dismiss, or negatively associate the sexual parts of themselves. Every human being, regardless of age, story, health issue, or relationship struggle -- deserves pleasure and connection.

I graduated from a traditional yoga teacher training ten years ago, and I have been teaching Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative, and Yoga for Chronic Pain throughout the last decade. I value and honor the power of yoga and the philosophy around a yogic life. I was deliberate, thoughtful, and very careful with how I designed this class. I maintain respect and love for the heart of yoga, and I recognize how the practice has been somewhat stripped away with the modern twist: the designer yoga pants and blinged out yoga studios! I realize yoga has transformed tremendously to fit in with modern times, and I personally believe that all forms of yoga offer something unique and valuable. I followed my heart and gut in designing this class to embody an element that I believe is essential in who we are: sensuality.

Yoga for Self-Care & Chronic Pain

DESCRIPTION

Yoga for Self-Care & Chronic Pain is the nurturing class that your mind and body has craved. Gentle and restorative, this class is deliberately designed to guide those with chronic pain through soft movements and nourishing meditation. For those who have taken yoga in the past, this class is similar to a hatha and restorative yoga combination.

Class will begin with a grounding, then move through a series of poses, and end with meditation. Students are encouraged to listen carefully to their bodies and move in a way that makes sense for them. All shapes, poses, and movements will look different for each person.

Learn and understand more about what chronic pain is, and why graded exposure, mindful exercises, yoga, and meditation can make a big impact. These techniques were pivotal in my own healing journey, and I am thrilled to gently weave them into this restorative class!

This is also an opportunity to meet others and build community with people who may be experiencing something very similar to you. Let's support each other!

STUDENT

This class is for everyone, but particularly designed for those with chronic pain, illness, or limiting conditions who wish to nurture their bodies and minds.

LEVEL

All levels, but classes will be gentle and restorative.

GUIDELINES

  • Please email or speak to me ahead of time if you require accommodations in class, due to a medical issue or chronic condition.

  • Take breaks and listen to your body. If we are holding a pose for longer than a few breaths, sometimes this feels nourishing, and other times it can cause discomfort. Discomfort is okay, but pain is not. If necessary, please readjust. Take care of you first.

  • Showing up is enough. Do not be hard on your mind or body.

  • Yoga is a type of somatic experience. Many people eventually experience a "release" or an acute awareness of emotion during yoga -- joy, anger, gratitude, guilt, sadness, confidence. Please know that this is normal. I encourage students to approach these emotions with curiosity, rather than judgment

  • What is shared in class, stays in class. Let's support each other!

  • Please wear comfortable clothes that you can move and relax in.
